The second message is found in Acts 14:8–18, where Luke describes for us the visit of Paul and Barnabas to the city of Lystra in Lycaonia, again in the province of Galatia. This time the audience was completely different. The people Paul addressed were uncultured pagans who were polytheists; that is, they believed in the many traditional gods of the ancient Greek and Roman worlds. Many of the Gentiles Paul met on his journeys would have had similar ideas to these pagans in Lystra.
